Diane M. Snyder

61, of Indianapolis, passed away April 26, 2013. She was born June 3, 1951 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Raymond and Fern Brown Dirksen.

Diane graduated from Bay High School in Bay Village, Ohio and received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Indiana University. Diane was a nurse for over 35 years and recently worked at Community Hospital East for 16 years. She enjoyed riding bikes, wood-working, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel , 5377 E. Washington St.

Diane is survived by her husband, Richard Snyder; mother, Fern Dirksen; step-children, Edward Snyder (Gina), Michelle Vasquez; brothers, David and Steven Dirksen (Audrey); sister; Sue Yoder; step-grandchildren, Tony and Malea Vasquez, Will, Drew, Sam, and Katherine Snyder, and many nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her sister in law, Margo Dirksen and her father, Raymond Dirksen. Since Diane always said, "I've never seen a good looking dead person," she is being cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Greenways, specifically for the Pennsey Trail and/or The Indianapolis Humane Society.
