Harry K. Nelis

91, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 7, 2012. He was born on August 11, 1921 in Indianapolis, IN to Albert and Dorothy (McHenry) Nelis.

Harry served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and bowler. He also loved to play cards. Harry retired from Eli Lilly and Company after 37 years, where he was president of the Activities Club for over 25 years.

Harry is survived by his son, Kevin M. (Denise) Nelis of Tavares, FL; daughter, Shari (Dean) Caston, Bluffton, IN; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Blackwell, Mona Nelis, and Mary Ferran; and one brother, Richard Nelis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Marie Nelis; three brothers; and six sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10 in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home , 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11 in the funeral home. Harry will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
