John Howe

79, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at home. He was born on January 20, 1934 to Robert and Mildred (Davison) Howe in Columbus, IN.

John retired from Carmel Clay Schools in 1998 after 31 years. He also worked in Indiana and Ohio as a Parks & Recreation Director, and served 12 years on the Hamilton County board of Parks & Recreation. John served in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Columbus High School, where he was the 1952 state champion in the 440 yard dash; and a 1960 graduate of Indiana University, where he studied Education and Parks & Recreation, and was a member of the 1954 Big Ten Champion Mile Relay Team.

He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (Toler) Howe whom he married on February 13, 1965; sons, Andrew John (Jody) Howe, Ryan Patrick (Sarah) Howe; grandchildren, Lily, Levi, and Raleigh Howe; and brother, Richard "Dick" Howe.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at First Christian Church of Noblesville, 16377 Herriman Blvd in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service. Pastor John Davis will officiate.
