Walter Kenneth Lippard, Jr.

1918 - 2013

Went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 2013 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; daughter, Diana Hedges; son, Eric Keith and great-granddaughter, Claire. Walter is survived by sons, Walter Kenneth III (spouse Diane) and John Carl (spouse Cindy) and son-in-law, Bill Hedges; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Walter was born in Clermont, Indiana and spent most of his life in Speedway, Indiana.

After graduating from Arsenal Tech High School in 1936, he married his high school sweetheart, Hazel Holland Reepmaker. They enjoyed nearly 70 years of life together. Walter served his country as a Marine during the end of World War II in 1945.

Walter was a lifelong member of Clermont Christian Church where he served as an Elder and as Treasurer for many years. He even played on the church softball team into his eighties. He enjoyed church fellowship, water aerobics, and reading to the students at the local elementary school. After retiring from Allison division of General Motors, Walter and Hazel spent their winters in Pinellas Park, Florida. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with family members and the greatest desire of his heart was to love others in Jesus' name.

A celebration of Walter's life will be held on Friday, September 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Clermont Christian Church.
