I have been thinking of Nick, and of Marilyn, when I watched the IU game and saw football coaching alumna honored. I miss YOU. Judy George

Nick,
In your loss I have lost a bit of myself and I grieve the loss of YOU. A buddy, a friend. We were fellow Buckeyes and we had one year of cross-over at Miami University. I cheered you on while sitting in Block"M" at Miami. I walked by your fraternity house near slant walk. I worked in the kitchen with your teammate, Bill Triplett. I had my knee taped by Jay Colville whom I presume you had encounters with. I watched your Indiana '68 team work their way to the Rose Bowl. I sat in the same seats and heard the same lectures from the same professors for the Director's Degree at IU. And, then best of all you came to DePauw and
our paths crossed again; this time for a longer period. I watched your games; I observed the love that you had for all the athletic teams, women and men; I garnered your support as we fought to keep the now kinesiology department at DePauw; I was warmed by your friendly hugs in greeting; I was there for your daughter's wedding; and Marilyn and I shared time one weekend when you were gone on business. How could I not miss such a wonderful man? Kudos, Chief!

Dear Mourouzis family,
My name is Dave Schoenwetter and I am the head football coach at Glenbrook South High School. My dad was the head coach here when Nick lived in Glenview and the two became acquaintances through Nick's son playing football at GBS. - As a young kid, I ended up attending Nick's passing camps at Depauw and became a big fan of his. While I ended up playing football at a different D-III school, my appreciation for Coach Mourouzis never waned. I still use many of the coaching drills that he taught me as a player in my coaching today and I will never forget the day he stopped by GBS when I was a first year high school coach and he insisted I call the GBS head coach at that time by his full title...a lesson I still value today.
I am sure that Coach Mourouzis had a positive impact on thousands of people in his lifetime and he leaves an incredible legacy behind.
Sincerely,
Dave Schoenwetter
Glenbrook South HS.

Nick was one of the finest people I ever met. Not only a great football coach but a great teacher, motivator and role model. Our sympathy to all the Mourouzis family.

A true inspiration to all the people he came in contact with. He gave all of the men he coached the blue print to life and I’m for ever grateful for it. He will be missed but never forgotten.
