I will always remember Jerry as a very loving, caring and helpful person. To me, Jerry and Ann represented the "perfect couple." Gary will be very much missed but he is with the Good Lord now.

Kristen I never knew your grandpa, but what a life he led. It was almost like a fairytale. The way he met and married your grandma for 65years. You can tell from all he did and it was monumental, that he loved life, and every one in it. Just from the way you turned out, you are able to tell he loved his family and raised his kids right, because you dad was a good dad too. Sounds like you were very close and how wonderful he got to see Hayes.
I'm so sorry that you are dealing with his loss right now. But being able to tell your little one all the things about his great grandpa (and truly great) will help you keep his memory alive. Hang in there and give my condolences to your family and your grandma.

I also worked with Jerry in St. Petersburg when he was the General Manager of the Florida Suncoast Dome (now known as Tropicana Field), as St. Petersburg's Downtown Redevelopment Administrator. He and his team did an excellent job managing our new domed stadium and attracting a broad range of attractions that were very successful. Jerry and his team were members of the Russ Cline & Associates Company, under the guidance of Russ Cline and Mike Barber. As already noted by Robert Rose the Suncoast Dome successfully hosted many high profile events that drew large crowds! Jerry and the entire Russ Cline team made significant contributions to the revitalization of downtown St. Petersburg, and the City's downtown area has become one of the most vibrant communities in Florida and beyond.
Condolences to his family and thank you for sharing Jerry with all of us. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Rick Mussett

Jerry was one of the most considerate and caring persons I knew. I never heard a cross word come out of his mouth. He was always thinking of the other person first. It was very obvious that Jerry put God first and foremost in his life.

Jerry was our General Manager of the Florida Suncoast Dome which now hosts the Tampa Bay Rays MLB as Tropicana Field. Under his leadership, we hosted Davis Cup Tennis Finals, Tampa Bay Storm Arena Football, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Van Halen, Don Henley, Stars on Ice, NCAA Basketball and 45,000 screaming kids for the New Kids on the Block. We were guided under his leadership to become the place to host high profile events for the Tampa Bay area. We all benefitted so much from his development of our staff into a cohesive team. Thank you Jerry! We miss you!

I remember him well, coaching GWHS's basketball team, and proud to see what he thought about that team being fully integrated. Who could forget Ralph Taylor and those jumps? Didn't know J.O. had achieved so much after he left GWHS, but very nice to hear about it.
