In addition, he is survived by his sisters and their families: Mary T. and Herschel E. Cook II of Lafayette; Marjorie T. and Randy W. Charley enjoyed vacationing in Key Biscayne, FL and Petosky, MI; both retreats where he could spend his time fishing and boating with people he loved.

While living in Indianapolis, Charley attended ST. Luke Catholic Church and was involved in weekly teaching SMRE for many years. He adored family and friends and never missed an opportunity to drive and catch-up with a loved one. He will be greatly missed as the family's leader and he has left a legacy of unconditional loyalty and love for friends and family.

I had the pleasure of being mentored by Charlie back in 1985 while I attended Law School and Clerk's with his firm in Indianapolis. As a teacher of litigation practice, he took time to teach this student about assessing the end game early. He was generous with his time and added great personal vignettes to imprint the lessons. I only recently learned of his passing. I have not seen him for a number of years. I think the last time I saw him was at a lunch time restaurant. We shared a few stories and it was good. Charlie was the last of the named partners at the firm to pass. All died too young. I shall recall him fondly. I offer my prayers and sympathies to his family.

From age 12, Charley held a special place in the heart of our family. Hanging out with my brothers, playing in the basement band or playing sports , it seemed he was always around. One of my happiest memories was the first day of law school, when I sat down in a classroom full of nervous strangers and heard his surprised voice behind me call my name. Thanks to Charley those years were less drudgery and a lot more fun than we ever expected. Fortunately, we later had many wonderful years practicing law together.

Charley was wise, thoughtful, caring, loyal, generous and, above all, kind -- all of the best things. I will miss him dearly. My deepest sympathy to all the Traylor family.

Please accept my condolences in the passing of Charley Traylor. Charley and I were involved together in various cases and matters (primarily in Indianapolis) during the course of both of our legal careers. He always was an effective advocate, a true gentleman with a great sense of humor, and a great person. The world is a much poorer place for his passing. May God comfort Charley's family in his passing, and may Charley's memory be eternal!

Very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Brother Ferris, Jr. was my age, classmate and teammate on the Evansville Day School tennis team, and Charlie was older and away at prep school, so I didn't know Charlie as well as Ferris. But Charlie was always kind to me when I would see him in the summers at ECC. He and my sister Boo were good friends. Godspeed

Although I was a few years younger than Charlie, I knew him when we were in school together at the EDS in Evansville. He was a kind person with a good sense of humor. I am sad beyond explanation to learn of his death. My condolencences and best wishes go out to his family and friends.

Thank you Charlie for making our time in Indianapolis so loving, for being there for us always selflessly and teaching our children the value of extended family. We will miss you dearly.

To his children...I am sorry that we cannot be there this week. Your father was a really good man who definitely left his mark in this world.

To all of Charley's family and friends I add my deepest condolences, amid the immense sadness I feel at his loss. We met in 6th grade at the Day School, and became close friends when I returned in 8th grade. My memories of sleep-overs, of an amazing summer playing golf, of our rock band (he was quite a drummer), these and so many other occasions of our youth together are etched sharply in mind. I can hear his laugh clearly, and see his slightly ironical smile, and recall the graciousness and charm he always possessed. Although in later years we didn't see one another as much as I wished, somehow we always picked up the thread from before as though no time at all had elapsed. He was a great friend and I miss him dearly, and always will.

I had the pleasure of working with Charley when I was a young, neophyte lawyer working at Kortepeter McPherson in Indianapolis many years ago. Charley (and some other experienced lawyers at KM) took me in and showed me the legal ropes when I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Charley was very patient with me and guided me the best he could. I really enjoyed talking with him, working with him, going to lunch, hearing his stories, etc. He was just a fun guy to be around.

Charley knew everyone in town. Charley was well liked. Charley will be missed by a lot of people. The world is a better place for having had Charley in it.

I visualize Charley with his hat on, walking to the courthouse with a file in his hand, and getting stopped 5-6 times along the way by all the people that knew him and wanted to chat him up.

To Charley and his family, I send my deepest sympathies and condolences. The world lost a good one on November 12th. May Charley rest in peace, gone from this earth, but never forgotten.

Dear family of dearest Charley,
What stunned sadness at Charley's sudden death. He was such a wonderful person. My husband Scott and Charley made friends before kindergarten, and stayed friends for life. Somehow, we lost his address recently, and lost temporary touch with him. I sent a letter by FedEX, to arrive Monday, November 26, to Charley's address in Lafayette. The peace of heaven is with Charley now.

November 22, 2018

With deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Traylor. May the love of God and heartwarming memories of your dearly loved family member and friend give you comfort beyond measure. (1 John 4:9)
