Allen Kent "Buzz" Graves

73, Danville, passed away February 1, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Born on April 9, 1940 in Bedford, he was the son of Herman and Juanita Brown Graves. Buzz graduated from Shawswick High School, Lawrence County, in 1959. He married Myra Faye Butler in 1960. He retired from the Indiana State Police in 1985. He loved restoring antiques, building furniture, hunting and fishing. Buzz was a member of the Masonic Lodge #653, Plainfield, American Legion, Danville, and Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include his wife, Myra Faye Graves; daughters, Mrs. Deanna K. Westhead (Doug) of Plainfield, Mrs. Christy A. Chalfant (Wade) of Danville; grandchildren, Justin E. Westhead, Austin M. Chalfant (Kayla), Whitney K. Westhead; great grandson, Gannon Michael Chalfant; brothers, Mr. Jim Graves (Barbara) of Bedford, Mr. Neil Graves (Sue) of Goshen; sister-in-law, Ms. Sue Graves, brother-in-law, Mr. Joe Reed and several nieces and nephews. His parents, brother, Donald Graves and sisters, Janice Reed and Betty (Cliff) Victory, preceded him in death. Hall-Baker Funeral Home , Plainfield, is in charge of the arrangements. All services will be private with Reverend A. J. Cox and friend, Mr. Rex Parker officiating. They are with the Cloverdale Church of Christ.
