Glen F. Kesler Obituary
Glen F. Kesler

Westfield - Glen Franklin Kesler, age 85, lost his battle with cancer and passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, January 5, 2019. He was born (December 10, 1933) and lived in the Indianapolis area, where he met the love of his life, and wife of 64 years, Nancy Lorene Kesler. Together they lived a beautiful life, raising two daughters and a son. Glen was a happy and kind man, sharing a funny joke or a helping hand wherever needed. He attended primary school in the Indianapolis area and, after graduating high school, he was proud to have served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman from 1952-1954 on the USS New Jersey. He then sought an education at Butler University, earning a Degree in Pharmacology in 1959. Glen had a passion for knowledge, and therefore loved the field of pharmacology, working as both a pharmacist, as well as in territory pharmaceutical sales, for 50 years in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas, even going back as a part-time pharmacist after his official retirement.

In his spare time, and especially after retirement, Glen enjoyed several hobbies, including being an avid fisherman, golfer and bird watcher with a strong interest in horticulture. He and his wife also spent equal time in both his home of central Indiana and the St Petersburg/Fort Myers areas of Florida. He volunteered with many programs throughout the community, too, such as the Hamilton County Parks Department, St. Vincent's Hospital, and Grand Park, just to name a few. But the most special times he had were with his family, whom he is survived by, which include his wife (Nancy), 3 children [Destie Ahern, Debbie Kesler, Ben (Sheri) Kesler], 4 grandchildren [Ashley Ahern-Blanton (Mark), Wesley Ahern, Shelbi Kesler, Sidney Kesler], and 4 great grandchildren [Jackson, Kathryn, Noah, Skyler]. He joins his parents, John and Laura Kesler, as well as his brother, Jack Kesler.

A celebration of life will be held for all those whose lives were touched by Glen. This will take place on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 1pm-5pm, at The Meeting House - Centennial - 14800 Parkhurst Drive, Westfield, IN 46074. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Parks Department (https://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/445/Support-the-Parks) in honor of Glen F. Kesler. Friends may sign his online guest book at www.indianafuneralcare.com.
