Mary Jane Berger Obituary
Mary Jane Berger

Indianapolis - Mary Jane Berger, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 10, 2019. Born on August 10, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Marie Mennel.

She attended St. Catherine's grade school and Manuel High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles E. Berger on Nov. 21, 1941. They went on to have 8 children: Mary Jeanette Whittemore, Charles (Ann) Berger, Jr., Diane (Jack) Hildebrandt, John (Dori) Berger, Donna (Marc) Novotney, Debra (Gary) McGinnis, Darlene (Phillip) Hawkins, and Thomas Berger.

She had 18 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Berger; and children, John, Donna and Thomas.

She was an active member of St. Roch Catholic Church for over 70 years. Her favorite thing in life was spending time with her family. She loved being involved with, and the center of attention with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She taught us that family bond should be truly treasured.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Prayers will begin at 9:15 am on Friday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 South Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis.
