Mary Margaret Carroll Polis

87, of Indianapolis, passed away October 17, 2015. She was born November 22, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late John P. and Hazel E. Keating Carroll. Mary was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. She was a legal secretary for 23 years for Cale J. Holder, U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Indiana and worked ten years at The Attorney General's office retiring in 1994. Mary was a member of the Indianapolis Athletic Club, where she swam on various swim teams winning numerous medals. She was an active volunteer at The Children's Museum and St. Vincent de Paul. Mary was a dedicated member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and also attended St. Simon The Apostle Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed traveling to Key West with her daughter and family and visiting with her girlfriends from St. Agnes Academy.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Polis McCrory (Michael); grandchildren, Justin P. and Katherine E. McCrory; step-daughter, Debi Polis Dixon; and step-sons, Anthony, Jacob and Conner Dixon. Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Ann Carroll Blank; and her nieces, Judith and Carroll Blank.
