Robert Manning Obituary
Robert Manning

- - Robert Manning, age 88, was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. Bob went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, July 5. His wife, Joyce Manning, preceded him in death. As a Marine, he served in Korea and Vietnam and retired from the Marines after 20 years of honorable service. He was a tough Marine with a soft and loving heart (but, he would never want anyone to know that!) - but, now they do, Dad! We all adored him and he adored us, too. There will forever be a hole in our hearts and lives without him. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 14, at 3 pm at First Baptist Church in Beech Grove. Burial will be private. His three children survive him: Melody (Craig) Stevens, Susie Manning, and Bruce (Linda) Manning. His grandchildren, who lovingly called him their Papa include: Heather (Richard) Brown, Brian (Shelby) Plew, Jeremy Manning, Jared Manning, Heather (Shaun) Jackson, and Ben Stevens. He also has four great grandchildren that he adored. His brothers, Gerald (Rita) and John (Cindy) also survive. And, many beloved nieces and nephews. Donations in Bob's memory can be made to Gideon's International or to First Baptist Church of Beech Grove.
