Virginia Anne (Lorenz) Farmer
Indianapolis - Virginia Anne (Lorenz) Farmer, 97, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on October 17, 2018. Virginia was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 31, 1920 to parents, Frederick and Bess (Sherman) Lorenz. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1938.
Virginia married, V. Galen Farmer on February 28, 1942 and the two were married 63 years until his passing in 2005. Virginia was a longtime member of Northwood Christian Church and, when younger, was an active volunteer with Easterseals Crossroads.
Virginia is survived by her children: Richard L. Farmer (Sheila) of Clinton, OH, David M. Farmer (Linda) of Indianapolis and Sally L. Sumpter (Jeffrey) of Indianapolis; sister, Marjorie L. Paddock of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Michelle Brogan (Andrew), Kristin Farmer (David Bair), Amanda Strattman (Daniel), Jennifer Olsson (Mattias), Andrew Farmer, Matthew Sumpter (Stephanie), and Nicholas Sumpter (Whitney); and 12 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Frederick Lorenz and Paul Lorenz.
Calling will be held from 11am until 1pm on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, where funeral services will follow at 1pm. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
