William J. Goff, Sr.

97, was born February 14, 1917 in Danville, IN 1917 and died July 28, 2014 in West Lafayette, IN.

Bill attended Battle Ground H.S., Central Normal College and Butler University. He taught and coached at Darlington, North Salem, North Central and Westlane Jr. High. He coached basketball, baseball, wrestling, track and golf and completed his career as Athletic Director at Westlane. Many summers he contracted and built quality custom homes on Indianapolis' Northside.

As a Captain in the Army Air Corps 1942-45 he served in England and Europe. His aircraft maintenance squadron retrieved US and British glider planes from combat areas.

Bill and his wife Tommi Wilson Goff enjoyed many retirement years at Windmill Manor in Bradenton, FL. His final years were in the care of the Copas family and Green Tree Assisted Living in West Lafayette.

He was predeceased by parents, Vesta Viva Robbins and William Jeff Goff; sisters, Jeane Goff Smith and Rosemary "Bobby" Goff Sale; as well as wives, Betty Jean Jones Goff and Laura Pauline "Peggy" Kiefer Goff.

Survivors are his son, William J. Goff Jr. (Cheryl), Acworth, GA; stepchildren, Dawn Wilson Copas (Stan), West Lafayette; Devon Wilson Neise, Bloomington, IL, Larry Wilson (Priscilla), Seymour, IN, Steve Wilson, Mukilteo, WA, Judy Kiefer Mendenhall Shiffler (Wendell), Fairbanks, AK, Kiefer Mendenhall (Mary), Aspen, CO, and Pam Ferrell, Houston, TX; as well as 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews and their children.
