Hildred E. Biggs Obituary

Hildred E. Biggs

52, of Indianapolis died Tuesday evening April 29th in the comfort of her own home and with her family faithfully by her side. Hildred was born March 20th 1962 in Marion Indiana. She attended school in Gas City and was an award-winning member of the Marion High Steppers.

Fond childhood memories include baseball - an avid Cubs fan, acting in her high school's play, going to visit cousins, playing cards, Campus Life, and EMT training. She was in Ball State's nursing program for several years before eventually graduating from IUPUI with a degree in accounting. Hildred had an admirable work ethic and incomparable speed and efficiency in completing tasks. Her career path spanned 25 years in the fields of store management, banking and financial services, and accounting. She was an intelligent, honest, loyal, hard-working person whose compassionate and mentoring nature provided refuge and guidance for many. Throughout life Hildred loved to play games - add a wager into the mix and Hildred was all in. Fantasy football, the NCAA tourney, bingo, poker… and the profit margin at Hoosier Park in Anderson may be seen to drop in Hildred's absence! Hildred also loved to fish. Hildred had many good friends who will miss her dearly.

Hildred was preceded in death by her dad, Harvey D. Biggs; her mom, Lucille M. Burke Biggs Walters; her stepdad, Robert Walters; her brother David Biggs; and the father and brother of her partner - William R and Joseph Lesch. She is survived by her loving partner of 32 years, Kathy Lesch; her brother Harold (Shirley) Biggs and their daughter Stacey Alston; sister-in-law, Rene Biggs; sister, Martha (Steve) Hix and family; the Walters family, numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends along with members of her partner's family who loved her dearly. Hildred is also survived by her dear neighbor, Rick Webb.

Calling and visitation will be Sunday May 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Feeney Hornak Keystone Mortuary (71st and Keystone) including a special time of prayer starting at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250) on Monday May 5th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to any Humane Society in honor of Hildred's furry companions Pooh, Tigger, and Lady; Community Hospital East; or Harbor Light Hospice in honor of the tremendous medical care Hildred received over the years.
