Ronald Seals Obituary

Ronald G. Seals 68, Jasper, IN, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, while on a trip to Scottsdale, AZ. Ron was born on September 5, 1938 in Vincennes, IN. He was president and CEO of Springs Valley Bank and Trust Company in Jasper, a past president and active member of the Indiana Bankers Association as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. He began his banking career at First Bank and Trust Company in Speedway, IN. He became the youngest bank president in Indiana at the age of 34, while at the Edinburgh State Bank in Edinburgh, IN. In 2004, Ron was made a Sagamore of the Wabash. Ron accomplished much in his long career in community banking, but his greatest pride and sense of accomplishment came through his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy (Straub) Seals; daughter, Kim and husband, Mike Dellinger of Sioux City, IA; son, Chris Seals and wife, Susan of Rushville, IN; daughter, Kate and husband, Hal Hardin of St. Charles, MO; seven grandchildren, Heather Mason, Austin Seals, Emily Hardin, Jonathan Seals, Jeffrey Hardin, Seth Hardin and Jillian Dellinger; his mother, L. Margaret (Meyer) Seals and sister, Nancy C. Seals of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Seals. The celebration of Ron's life will be on Saturday, April 7 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Both will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 3240 St. Charles, Jasper, IN, where Ron was an active member. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to his church, the American Heart Association or blood donations in honor of Ron. Arrangements by Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home, Jasper, IN.
