Obituary Condolences

Ann Marie Chadwick

Passed away on Feb. 7, 2013 at Manor Care of Prestwick after 8 years of serious illnesses. The daughter of Earl and Ruth McCarthy Chadwick, born October 21, 1939, Ann was a Butler Univ. graduate and an IU Masters grad. Working first as a teacher of English at Decatur Jr. H.S., she soon became Head of Guidance Dept., there, also working in the athletic dept. Before retiring in 1992, Ann had served as interim principal for Decatur Jr. High, earning high honors from the Twp. School Board.

Ann was a longtime member of Speedway's Tri-Kappa chapters, serving in numerous leadership posts. She was an active volunteer throughout her life to help anyone in need, offering her personal efforts, her counselling, and her strong faith. As an advocate for Seniors and President of Manor Care's Residents Council, she accomplished this personal goal. She loved books of all subjects and found joy in organizing the Library at Manor Care while working there with other residents.

As an avid golfer, Ann was proudest of her hole-in-one golf ball, displayed prominently in her office. She loved the 500 Mile Race and NASCAR 400. She enjoyed travelling, cooking, convertible cars, playing bridge with friends, building a stock portfolio, buying rental properties, and always returning to her home parish--St. Christopher's in Speedway and the Notre Dame meditation Grotto.

Ann is survived by her brother, Joe Chadwick and his children and families, her beloved uncles and aunts and cousins, her Manor Care family, and hundreds of special friends and working associates.

"Ann, may God in Heaven prepare your very own perfect golf course. You deserve all of His blessings for your lifetime of caring good works!"

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 West 16th St., Speedway with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House. Online condolences may be shared at
