80, of Fishers, surrounded by his family, went home to present his final salute to our Lord on February 16, 2016. He was born February 7, 1936 in Indianapolis, to the late I.J. and Mary Cooper. Bernie was a 1954 graduate of Cathedral High School and a 1958 graduate of University of Notre Dame. He served his country in the U.S. Marine and lived his life by the motto "Attitude is Everything." Bernie was the former owner of All Star Tire, and a former member of the Indianapolis Athletic Club, Junto, American Business Club, Wawasee Ski Club, Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis and Kiwanis.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Shirley Jane Kingen-Cooper; sister, Ellen (John) Riddle; children, Kathleen (James) Sweeney, Cynthia (Timothy) Kelly, Jeanne (Matthew) Kelsch, Christopher Cooper and Anne (Scott) Chamness; daughter-in-law, Sherri Kingen (Brad) Arnold; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Indiana Parkinson Foundation, 9669 East 146th St., Ste. 180, Noblesville, IN 46060.
