Marcea Youmans Obituary

Marcea Kay Youmans

Greenwood - Marcea Kay Youmans, beloved daughter of Frank R. (Bob) Youmans and Helen T. Youmans (deceased) went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2021 after a courageous, multiple-year battle with cancer. Marcea was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, Ind. where she attended and graduated from Greenwood Community High School in 1970. At an early age, Marcea began working with her father at the family pharmacy, Youmans' Greenwood Pharmacy. Marcea went on to attend Clark College Business School, which prepared her for a career as an Insurance Underwriter at the Indianapolis firm of Stone, Stafford, and Stone. Upon her retirement from the insurance industry, Marcea started a home maintenance and services business, where she enjoyed helping others, being outside on her mower, and assisting with their pet-sitting needs.

Marcea knew and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a past member of The Greenwood Presbyterian Church, which she attended with her family while growing up.

Marcea will be forever loved and missed by a number of friends and family, including her three brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank R. (Bob) Youmans III, Lewisville, TX; James C. (Jim) Youmans (Linda), Raleigh, NC; and David L. (Dave) Youmans (Diane), Raleigh, NC. She is remembered as a vivacious, fun-loving, and doting Aunt/Great Aunt by her nephews, nieces, and great nieces. Marcea is fondly remembered by the many of her co-workers, clients, customers, and friends she met and cared for during her life in Greenwood, in addition to all her friends at her "second home" at Lake James in Angola, IN.

As Marcea's love of animals was so evident, we would ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choosing.

To allow family members to gather and to ensure safety during the pandemic, the time of visitation and remembrance by her friends and family will be Friday, July 2nd from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel in Greenwood, IN. A private burial is planned for a later date.

We have known Marcea for many, many years and very much relished our friendship! She watched our dog, took care of our house when we were out of town, drove us to the airport, mowed the yard...just willing to do anything and always handled everything as if it were her own. She handled her sickness with a touch of class and positive attitude while never complaining. We will miss the conversations, her smile, and her sense of humor. Our deepest condolences to friends and family. She was a special person. With love, Phil and Nancy Powell, friends. May 12, 2021

I was so saddened to learn of Marcea's passing. She took care of my lawn for over 10 years and she was also a patient in the dental office I worked in. I always enjoyed our conversations over the years. Marcea was a kind and caring person and I know she will be sorely missed by those who knew her. My condolences to her entire family during this difficult time.

In loving memory of a wonderful person who never met an animal she didn’t love. So thankful for the love she gave my fur babies when I had to travel. I know she was greeted by many from the rainbow bridge.

I have known Marcea for 31 years. As we aged, I didn't get to see her as much as I would have liked. But for those years spent, we did many things together. I will always remember her as someone who when sets her mind to something, could achieve anything. She loved her family and was always there if I needed her. She and Barri were like sisters to me. May she rest in peace. Love you Marcea.... always! Milissa

My many Condolences to the family. I loved hearing her voice on the other end of the phone line; she would always strike up a conversation with me like we've known each other for years! I've always appreciated her and Barri, for all of the laughs and smiles, whether from other the phone or in person. I do know, this Pharmacy Technician will sure miss her.
Again, my Condolences, sending all positive vibes to those affected by this loss.
