Carl G. Culp
Indianapolis - Carl G. Culp died at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at the age of 87.
Carl was born in Baudette, MN on June 10, 1933 to Dilman and Ione Culp. After graduating from Mound High School, Carl proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a petty officer first class. Carl then attended the University of Minnesota where he studied political science. On April 4, 1959, Carl married his sweetheart, Shirley A. Fischer. Carl spent much of his career as a successful sales professional. While in jewelry sales, Carl achieved his certification as a gemologist, an example of his commitment to doing his absolute best at whatever he chose to do. Carl and Shirley moved to Indiana from Minnesota in 2000 to spend their retirement years closer to their children and grandchildren. Although retired, Carl found great joy in working at Gander Mountain where he gained many long-lasting friendships. Throughout his life, Carl enjoyed the outdoors through hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. Carl also was proud of the fact that he earned his pilot's license, which allowed him to fly over the beautiful lakes of Minnesota. Carl also was a dedicated student and teacher of the Bible, an aspiring photographer and bird watcher, and a long-time fan of Center Grove Football.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Kenneth E. Hansing.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his children Kathleen A. Jackson (Michael), Lori Culp Bolin (Barry), and Colleen K. Prudhomme (Scot); his grandchildren Kristine Weddell, Amanda Berkemeier (Stephen), Zachary Toney, Carolina Gaeta (Ezekial), and Samuel Bolin; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Abigail, Sophia Berkemeier, and Camila Gaeta.
