I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Joka's passing... I have fond memories of going shooting/hunting with him on Saturday mornings at the Murphy Game Farm with my Father and Grandfather. He was always so thoughtful and always smiled as I learned how to shoot... He will be missed...

First and foremost - I want to express my sympathy and prayers for loving memories for Walter to all of you. I am the daughter of Isadore (Sharkey) Joka who as a child lived in Manyunk. Then my grandfather John Joka and his wife Mary bought a farm out in Bucks County when my dad was a young boy. They had my dad, Theodore, Aloysius, Philamena, Jean and Natalie as children. (Jean and Natalie died as young children. Also Al, Phil, and my dad have passed away. Only my uncle Ted is still living.) I know my grandfather, a blacksmith, and one brother came from Poland in the early 1900's. And that one brother spelled the name with a Y and one with a J. There were some of my dad's first cousins - Walt,John, Jean,Natalie Yoka who had lived in Phila. Joka is not a common name so I wondered if we are related in some way. I did register my work email (which is where I am most of the time) Again my sincere condolences to you.

Everybody in our MURPHY family loved Walter, for his sense of humor, his reliability, his welcoming smile, his quarters for the children, his donuts, and MOST OF ALL, his frienship with our Dad, John J. Murphy! Rest in peace, dear friend!

We have many wonderful memories and stories to tell about Walter and our Dad, John J. Murphy. They were great friends who shared a love of dogs, hunting and the outdoors. He will be missed!
