WORD
DR. GLADYS M. WORD, found peace and joy with Jesus at her home Thursday, April 8, 2010. She celebrated 83 years of life. A resident of Willingboro, NJ since 1969, Gladys was a native Philadelphian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Word Jr., her parents and 2 brothers. She was a loving mother and treasured friend. Her life was dedicated to serving others.
She received her bachelors and masters degrees in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and masters and doctorate in education from Rutgers University. Her career was devoted to education and mentoring thousands of student nurses or cherubs, as she fondly referred to them. It is not unusual to encounter her graduates in many of the hospitals in the surrounding area.

Your Mother served as such a wonderful person both profesionally and presonally. She was a driving force in me becoming the nurse I'm today. My thoughts and prayers will continue for all those who loved her.

Although I only met her once, her lovely daughter Bonnie has become a dear friend to me in Pearland. We share NJ roots and NJ mothers. Dr. Word was a lovely person and made me feel like a member of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May God be with you.

Fondly,

Elizabeth
