Camille and I were K-8 grade-school classmates at St. James School in Woodbridge NJ, the town where she and I grew up, the last time I saw her being at our 8th-grade graduation Mass at St James RC Church. What a stellar mind and intellect, and incredibly kind and giving heart Camille had, which was only obvious even at that young age. RIP, Camille. I believe you're now singing with the Angels as I also believe, based on how you lived your life down here, you're presently one of them

It has been 4 years and while I can't believe the time already, I miss you so much as if it just yesterday. I think of you every day. The only peace I find for myself is that you are with your parents and my husband Steve. I do talk to you about things and I believe that you can hear me and then I come up with a solution that I believe you put in my head. I will always need you. Love you much, Aunt Linda

Their is an expression I have heard since I was alittle girl, "So young, gone too soon." How true this is. Camille left her kindness, friendship and love on so many. On this day I send my prayers to her family who I am sure are still feeling the loss. She will never be forgotten. A women who made the lives of so many better.

Camille was someone we could all look up to. I was always so very impressed with her academics and the way she would speak with me about politics because I would learn something every time. A wonderful family and a great cousin. She will indeed be missed.

I considered Camille a good friend in our Mt St Mary days. She had the greatest, dry sense of humor. Unfortunately we didn’t stay in touch except for a visit to Philadelphia in early 80s. I feel fortunate to have been a friend for however brief a time.

To Vernon, Anthony, Nicholas...I was waiting for our usual Friday morning call when I received the sad news of the passing of our dear Dr Paglia. That call was always the highlight of my work week because I got to spend time with this intelligent, kind, caring lady. Her patients and the staff at Montco Crisis loved her so. She was always cheerful and she took the time to let us know that she appreciated us. She will be greatly missed. Such a tremendous loss to Horizon House and the world. My sincere condolences to you and all who loved her.

Sharing for Camille's husband, sons, and other family members ... I was deeply saddened to learn yesterday of Camille's passing and thought to share our 8th-grade graduation composite-picture, how I remember her, and literally the last time I saw her ... what an accomplished person, what an accomplished life! I am so very sorry for your loss, as much as I know we never lose anyone, especially someone as close as a mother and cherished life-partner ... she is only changed, not gone from you, since she lives on in spirit, watching over and interceding for you all now in the great love she has for you ... my sincerest condolences ... I'm sorry for myself that I didn't have her as an adult friend, she was so outstanding a person, and clearly very very gifted and special

Camille Irene Paglia was an accomplished and respected leader in the field of Psychiatry and was taken from us so suddenly. Her knowledge and hard work will be sorely missed by multitudes. Her loss has put tears in my eyes. She was my second cousin and how proud I was to be related to such a genius. I can’t imagine how grief stricken her immediate family is. This is a tragic shame and only God knows what he had in mind to so suddenly cut her life so short. May you rest in peace, Camille, knowing that you left this world with a bountiful legacy meant for all those whose lives you touched. May you Rest In Peace and may all of those who loved you receive comfort and consolation knowing that you are in God’s loving hands.

August 10, 2020

Camille was my second cousin and as a child we shared times in the country and at the shore with our families. Camille was an extraordinary intellect, even as a young person, she was an avid reader and a lover of nature, wherein she had remarkable knowledge of flora and fauna which I coveted. I was totally fascinated by her mind and her drive to learn more. She appeared to be older than her years, as I was her senior and was a bit intimidated by her wisdom. I was awed by her courage and determination to pursue two different career paths, both of which required extreme dedication and intelligence. Although it has been several years since I have connected with her, I will remember her for her generous spirit, wisdom and dedication to her family. My sincere condolences to her dear husband, Vernon and the boys.

I worked with Dr Paglia at Horizon House. I can't begin to tell you how saddened and shocked I am by her passing. I spoke to her just the day before and was just about to call her when I got the terrible news. She was literally the best doctor I have ever worked with. She was kind, funny and extremely smart. With all that she was very humble and so easy to talk to. We talked so many times a day, sometimes about work and sometimes just to chat. I'm going to miss her so much. Her patients lost a kind, patient and caring doctor. My deepest sympathies go out to this wonderful woman's family. She talked about all of you so often. My prayers are with all of you.

To laugh often and love much. To win and hold the respect of intelligent persons, and the affection of little children; to earn the praise of honest critics and to endure, without flinching, the betrayal of false friends.

To appreciate beauty always, whether in earth’s creations or men and women’s handiwork; to have sought for and found the best in others and to have given it oneself.

To leave the world better than one found it, whether by nurturing a child or a garden patch, writing a cheery letter, or working to redeem some social condition.

To have played with enthusiasm, laughed with exuberance, and sung with exultation. To go down to dust and dreams knowing that the world is a little bit better, and that even an single life breathes easier because we have lived well, that is to have succeeded!
(The Successful Life-- Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Camille was a wonderful student and I enjoyed having her in my Physics class at Mount Saint Mary Academy. I am always pleased and take pride in the accomplishments of my former students and Camille certainly made very good use of her education in her varied and extensive careers in such a short span of time.
My prayers are with you Vernon, your sons and Camille's extended family at this time of such a great loss.
