Agata Hojlo Obituary

Agata Sosnowa Hojlo Agata, born in Osada Lezachow, Poland on March 23, 1913. After immigrating to the USA on June 16, 1947, "Agnes" continued her life's work as a fabulously creative cook and seamstress. She performed her culinary and sewing magic for the Sisters of Mercy at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Oakland as well as for the priests and Holy Cross Sisters of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Oakland. During 1981-1982, Agnes was acknowledged by the American Red Cross, Oakland-So. Alameda County chapter, for her volunteer services. She was a loving mother of three children, Longina (Christa), Christina, and Zbigniew (Bing) with his wife Bonnie, grandmother to John, Yolanda and Rafael, great grandmother to four, and a friend to many. Agnes possessed a wonderful sense of humor. She was a strong spirit with a compassionate and loving heart. Agnes died on April 2, 2009 at the age of 96. For those wishing to honor the memory of Agnes, a visitation, and prayer service will be held at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, San Lorenzo and a funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church, San Lorenzo.
