It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Loving Mother, GESINE ANDREA CASTRICHINI, on February 12, 2021 at the age of 84 years. She was born in Norden, Germany on January 10, 1937 to loving parents and raised by her mother Kea Talina Janssen when her father was deceased during the war at a young age of 24 . She immigrated to Canada where she fell in love with Oakville that ultimately became her longtime home. Gesine was predeceased by her late husband John Paul Castrichini in 1998 who she missed dearly. Loving Mother to Dr. Michael Castrichini and Tanya Castrichini, Loving Mother-in-Law to Dr. Christine Castrichini and Luigi Folcarelli, Proud Oma (grandmother) to Katie, Emillie, Joseph, Olivia, Isabella, Sarah, Mateo and Angelina. In-laws Francesco and Maria Folcarelli will miss having her come over for some wine and pasta. Gesine cherished many fond memories with the late Joanne Boccina who are probably having some tea together. She lived a full life of travel and met many friends over the years, she was known to everyone as "Gesi". She was a loyal companion to her many dear friends. She worked in Toronto at Simpsons as a seamstress in her early years but spent most of her time in retail Downtown Oakville at local clothing stores such as Shirley Jane, Tara Marie and Elfie's Townhouse. She was always dressed to "the nines" and would walk the downtown core very stylish and full of life. Her home overlooked the Oakville Harbour, she needed to be near water where she would watch the boats and take many walks along the lake. She was an avid photographer and loved to scrapbook her life. Anyone who received an invite for lunch would be welcomed to a quant setting with fancy tablecloths and napkins . Gesi will be missed by her many friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place at Glen Oaks Funeral Home. Due to COVID, a Celebration of Life to honour Gesine will be held at a later date.
