Larry Wilmshurst of Burlington, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021 in his favourite place, his home. Loving husband of the late Marilyn Wilmshurst (2003) and beloved son of the late Alma and Cecil Wilmshurst. Loved and cherished by his family, Larry is survived by his daughter Debbie, son-in-law Paul, and two grandchildren Jacob and Ben. Larry will be dearly missed by his neighbour and companion Ewa Jacobs, his lifelong friends Bob Secord, Helen Szabo, and all family and friends who knew and loved him. Larry was the social centre of the neighbourhood welcoming all who came to visit over the decades with the warmest greetings, food, drinks, and great conversation. The back porch was Larry's sanctuary, where he loved to sit overlooking the pool, surrounded by his trees, birds, and nature. You would always find him there with his radio on and watching a Jays, Raptors or Leafs game. If you were lucky you might also catch him rockin' to Shania Twain. With a gift for the gab, Larry had charm and a flirtatious wit drawing people to him. Always nostalgic, sharing "I've seen it all, done it all" stories going back to his youth in Hamilton. A virtual memorial will be held at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home in Burlington on Saturday, February 20, 2021 beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by a public gathering at Greenwood Cemetery, 1030 Greenwood Dr. in Burlington at 12:30 p.m. A link for the virtual memorial will be posted on the Dodsworth and Brown website on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
