With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother. Mom passed away peacefully at Milton Hospital after a short illness just shy of her 99th birthday. Mom joins her beloved husband Jack who passed in 1997.

Mom will be deeply missed by her devoted daughters Jacqui Gerrard and Stephanie Hamnett, her cherished grandchildren Adam Gerrard (Stephanie), Matthew Hamnett (Natalya), Georgia Smith and by her great grandchildren Fallyn, Daxton and Xander. Fondly remembered by her nephew Merville Hughes and family (North Wales).

Predeceased by her parents John and Edith Thompson; John and Ellen Royle, and sister Anne Hughes and brother John Royle.

Originally born in England, Mom grew up on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales with her much loved siblings Anne and John. It was love at first sight when Margot & Jack met. Married in 1946, they had 2 daughters before emmigrating to Toronto, Canada in 1956, along with our Grandparents Len & Florence Hamnett (predeceased).

Mom's love of Wales endured and she often shared fond memories of times spent there. In Canada, surrounded by her family, she led a very happy life. Love of family was what Mom was all about, creating a loving, happy home for us all. Mom was known for her love of Corgis, pussycats, knitting, crosswords, romance novels, cups of tea and ginger snaps.
Mom was a true British lady until the end. She will be loved and missed forever.
