Ann Cole (nee Sutton) at Brockville General Hospital at age 89 on Monday, March 22, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in 1932, Ann was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mildred (nee Phillips) Sutton of Smiths Falls, where she attended elementary and high schools. Ann graduated from Kingston General Hospital School of Nursing in the early 1950s. She spent much of her life in the Brockville area as a registered nurse and was later employed by the Victorian Order of Nurses. She was founding administrator of the long-term care home, Sherwood Park Manor, from its opening in December 1975, until her retirement in June 1980. Ann married her late husband, Bev Cole, who she met while nursing at KGH. She leaves sons Mark and Graham Cole, both of Brockville, three grandsons, Josh of Kingston, Jared of Brockville, and Taylor, his wife, Fran, and their daughter, Rayna, Ann's great-granddaughter, all of Lansdowne. Also cherished by her niece, Kimberley Olive, her husband Shawn and their children, Abigail, Carter and Gabriel, all of Kingston, and nephew Dan Wilson of Vancouver. Profoundly missed by her brother Ian Sutton and Linda Sutton, their son, David, and his partner Diana, all of Carleton, Nova Scotia. Also sadly mourned by her nephew, Robert Fulford of Orillia, and lifelong family friend Steve Robinson of Gananoque. Ann was predeceased in 2018 by her sister, Lynn Wilson of Kingston. Following their retirement, Ann and Bev lived briefly on Salt Spring Island, B.C., and later in Whitby, Ontario, before she returned to Brockville following her husband's death. She had been a resident of Rosedale Manor for several years. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery at Smiths Falls. Arrangements entrusted to the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville.
