Eric John Valent

Eric John Valent, 33, of Whittemore passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 5, 2014.
Eric, better known as, "Uncle E," "EV" and "Little Rico," lived every moment to the fullest, loved everyone he met and left a smile on their hearts. He enjoyed the thrill of competition, whether it was three fast turns on his Pony, sliding through the curves in his blue and white go-cart, or the famous No. 11 seen on the 4-cylinder factory stock. He raced every minute to the finish line. Eric was an adventurous outdoorsman from fishing, hunting, sailing, deep sea diving, sky diving, or exploring on his motorcycle. Eric loved every moment of his 33 years of life.
He worked hard to be able to play hard. He could run a machine, direct a crew, sail a boat or build anything that you needed. Eric was a generous soul who would change his plans in a heartbeat to help out family or friends in need. He leaves behind many cousins, friends across the country and a legacy that will race on forever.
Eric was a beloved son to Ricky and Theresa "Teri" (Hewett) Valent of Whittemore; devoted brother of Cynthia and Stoffer Cowles of Lewiston; and the fun uncle of Carlene and Krista Cowles; devoted grandson to Viola Valent of Whittemore; nephew to Dan and Linda Valent of Whittemore, Richard and Donna Miracle of Whittemore, James and Gloria Hoffman of Sandusky, Gary and Judy Streeter of Missouri and Nancy Hewett of Whittemore.
Eric was preceded in death by grandparents, John Valent and Earl and Jennie Hewett; aunts, Karen Blanchard and Marlene Hewett; uncles, Dave Hewett and Dick and Ann Hewett; and cousins, Jason Pace and Ricky Voss.
Visitation for Eric will take place Monday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Twining Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 15 W. Maple Ridge Rd. and again on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Minister Brent Ferns will officiate with interment following in Reno Township Cemetery/Saints Cemetery.
