Delitha Stone

TREMONT - TREMONT - TREMONT - TREMONT - Delitha Stone, 69, died Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born to E. L. and Edna George on July 11, 1955. She met the love of her life, Bill Stone, and they were married for 23 years. She loved children and worked as a teacher for Headstart for many years. She was a caring nurse for 30+ years. When someone heard her name, they would often tell you what a wonderful, amazing caregiver she was. She was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she loved the Lord, her pastor, and fellow members. She enjoyed volunteering her time to anyone in need as well as cooking, sewing, and camping. In her earlier years she loved singing and never lost her love for music.

Services were conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Ebenezer Baptist Church (955 Hwy 23, Vina, Alabama 35593) with Bro. Matthew Haney and Bro. Jerry George officiating. Visitation was from 12 PM to service time. Burial took place at Ebenezer Cemetery. Holland Funeral Directors was honored to serve their friends.

Delitha is survived by her children, Troy Miller of Tremont, Carey Snyder (Jeff) of Saltillo, and stepchildren, Leigh Ann Keady (Sean), Melissa Farris (Rob), Rob Stone (Kristi), and Katie Rosales; two brothers, Willie George and Jerry George (Shanda); sister-in-law Linda Sparks (Gerald); granddaughter Alonna Snyder; and a host of step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E. L. and Edna George; her husband, Bill Stone, who passed in 2024; a brother, Therman George; two sisters, Melba Jackson, and Margie Pettigo; and her brother-in-law, Stoney Pettigo.
