Susan DesHotels

A Private Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held for Susan Kay DesHotels, 62, who passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Rev. Phyllis Statton will conduct the memorial services.

Susan and her husband Kerry owned Business Express, a local business organization, for 30-years in Acadiana before retiring and purchasing properties in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.

Mrs. DesHotels, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Verlon Thornton and the former Tamiko Hoshimoto.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Kerry Lynn DesHotels; sister, Diane Thornton Aron; brothers, Tony Thornton (Deborah) and Michael Thornton (Diana); niece, Jordan Shumpert; great-nephew, Nate Shumpert; brother-in-law, Jim Shumpert; nephews, Brent Thornton (Stephanie), Shawn Aron (Tatum), Max Thornton, and Hunter Thornton (Taylor); great-nieces, Sadie Thornton, Anna Aron, and Oakley DeCurtis; great-nephews, Odin Thornton and Ronan Aron; step-son, Casey DesHotels; step-grandson, Lane DesHotels; and canine companions, "Duncan" & "Bella".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verlon and Tamiko Thornton; and sister, Bonnie Thornton Shumpert.

The family would like to thank Rev. Phyllis Statton and Donna Kennedy for their prayers, encouragement, and guidance, through these trying times.
