John "Jack" Bamberger

1931 - 2018

John "Jack" Bamberger, 86, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend, passed away peacefully in his Rancho Cucamonga home on February 17, 2018. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia, his children Peter Bamberger (Cathy) and Patricia Sullivan (John), his grandchildren Michael and Megan Sullivan and Peter (PJ) Bamberger, and his sisters Marilyn and Elaine.

Jack was born in Brooklyn, NY to parents Frederick and Adele. Upon graduation, he married his High School Sweetheart Pat. He entered the US Air Force where he served overseas honorably for 4 years. Upon leaving the military, in 1955 he started working for Lockheed Aircraft in Jamaica, New York, as a radio and Radar specialist. He worked his way up the ranks where he found his calling in the realm of Sales and Marketing. In 1975 he relocated to Lockheed Aircraft Services in Ontario, and settled his family in Rancho Cucamonga. His storied marketing career with Lockheed included developing numerous custom airplanes for public and private use. His work led him to meet and collaborate with government officials, dignitaries, and leaders throughout the US and the world. After 42 years of service, he retired in 1997 from his role as Vice President of Business Development.

Never one to slow down, Jack did some private consulting and became an even more active member of his parish community. Jack spent 30 years leading the Ministry of Arts and Environment for St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and a recipient of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Award in 2016.

Jack was a respected and loved member of the community, a dedicated family man, loyal friend, and a mentor to many. He lived a very full and satisfying life of travel, a passion for aviation, and time spent with family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5 to 8pm, with a Vigil and Rosary at 6pm, at the Draper Mortuary Chapel in Ontario.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Upland on Friday March 9, 2018 at 10:00 am.

Interment will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario at 2:30pm on March 9.
