Donald D. Bremer Obituary
Donald Duane Bremer, age 83, passed away at his home in Oceanside, CA on Sunday, January 14, 2018 surrounded by his family. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 62 years; by his sons, Douglas, Robert and Kevin; by his daughters-in-law, Debbie, Debra and Kelly; by his grandchildren, Christopher, Steven, Eric, Austin, Matthew, Candice and Danielle; by his great grandchildren, John, Sarah, Samuel, Kaedyn and Sawyer Jean; and his sister Janet.

Born in Sioux City, Iowa to parents Donald F. Bremer and Irma M. Bremer, Don’s family moved to Laurel, Nebraska during his high school years. Friends he made then remained in contact throughout the years.

Don served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict with the first NIKE Guided Missile Group. Don earned a BA degree through Wayne State College in Nebraska and a MA Degree from CSU Los Angeles. He also did post-graduate work with Iowa State University and UC Riverside. He served as an educator with Chino Unified Schools for some 35 years and especially enjoyed his time as Principal of Boys Republic High School in Chino.

Throughout his life Don enjoyed working with youth, participating in activities with Scouting, Little League and Church. He was a dedicated Rotarian and served in Rotary Chair positions in both Chino and Big Bear Lake.

Forest Lawn (21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA) will host a Viewing from 3:30 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, January 28th. Friends and family are also invited to attend a Memorial Service and reception at First Christian Church, 1751 North Park Ave, Pomona, CA commencing at 4:00 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Republic, Chino Hills for its Scholarship Program.
