Jack was born in Tulsa, OK, his family moved to San Pedro, CA in the 1930's and in 1940 he enlisted in the Army
and was immediately shipped to the Philippines. After training he was assigned to the Bataan Area, where he was wounded and captured by the Japanese. He survived the Death March and was imprisoned in various work camps. He was later moved to the Island of Fermosa (Taiwan) and then to Osaka, Japan. At the end of the war he was returned to San Pedro, CA. Where he worked for LAPD and married his first wife La Vola. After his police work he worked in Industrial Electronics and Sales Management positions.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife La Vola. He will be missed by his surviving family which includes his wife Barbara Jordan, his daughter Tamie Dempsey of Everett, WA, his son Mark Jordan, of Mustang OK, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides his family Jacks great joys in life were playing and winning at golf, poker, gin rummy, also traveling and writing poetry.
A Full Honors Military Service will be held on Thursday
March 8, 2018 at 10:00 am at the POW-MIA Section of Riverside National Cemetery open to friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at Rancho Ontario Mobile Home Park Club House 1456 E. Philadelphia, Ontario, CA.
