James W. Varga Obituary
James W. Varga, age 81, of Alta Loma, California passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2018. James was born March 7, 1936 in Elwood Park, Pennsylvania to Veronica and Joe Varga. At age 10 he and his family moved to Chicago, Il. where he stayed for 13 years. He enlisted in the Army on July 20, 1959 to August 14, 1961 in Fort Eustis, Va. and Camp Century under ice in Thule, Greenland. He was hired on with the Alhambra Police Department on August 5, 1965 until he retired on February 24, 1993. He was proud to be a police officer and was loyally committed to the profession.

James was a member of the California Robbery Investigations Association, he was a lifetime member and served as the Secretary and Treasurer in 1989. He was also the President of City of Alhambra Retired Police Officers Association (Wuzzfuzz) from 1996 to 2016. He was also a 20 year, daily honorary member of HK's Bar and Grill in Alta Loma.

James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon L. Varga; son James (Dana) W. Varga Jr.; daughter Vickie (Javier) A. Diaz; and daughter Christy (Bill) J. Padilla; grandson Corey J. Diaz, grandson Ryan C. Parker, granddaughter Carlie N. Varga and grandson Cody J. Varga.

James was preceded in death by his daughter Wendy L. Varga.

A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, at Weaver Mortuary 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, California. A graveside service will occur immediately following at Mt. View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Ave., Beaumont, California.
