June 4, 1931 - February 23, 2018
June Marie Bean, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully on February 23, 2018 at the age of 86 at Legacy House in Upland, California after a long illness.
Born on June 4, 1931 in Edwardsville, Illinois she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Grange. June graduated from Roxana High School in 1949 and then married her high school sweetheart Don. In 1962 she, along with her family moved to Upland, CA. For years June was involved with the local Girl Scouts, helped run the summer swim team at Upland High School and was always in the stands for Upland High School swim meets and water polo games. June was an active member of Foothill Baptist Church and in later years attended Pomona Baptist Church, now Purpose Church. She also loved traveling with her husband Don in their motor home.
June is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Donald; daughters Diane Sumner and husband Mark, Deborah Flores and husband Robert and son Donald Jr. She had five grandchildren; Michael Sumner, Michelle Harkness and husband Timothy, Christopher Sumner and fiancee Nicole Nissen, Ashley Flores and Shelby Flores and three great grandchildren; Andrew, Mia and Anthony Harkness. June is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Arthur Grange, one brother, four sisters, six half-brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. June was the youngest of twelve children.
The family would like to thank the wonderful loving care June received from the staff of Visiting Angels of Upland and the staff at the Legacy House of Upland.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6 at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, California, followed by interment at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, California. A reception will follow at Draper Mortuary.
June spent her final weeks under the care of VNA Hospice & Palliative Care.
