Marjorie E. Mather Marjorie E. Mather, age 85, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at San Antonio Municipal Hospital. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was a Montclair resident for over 58 years. Marjorie studied Early Childhood Education at Akron University and married Jack W. Reynolds, an Air Force lieutenant and pilot, in 1955. They divorced in 1960. After relocating to the Pomona Valley area with her two small children (Mark and Julie), Marjorie took up residence in Montclair and worked as an office receptionist/administrator. She married her second husband, Raymond F. Mather, in 1961 and had two additional children (Jeff and Leanne). While raising her family, Marjorie worked part-time as a substitute teacher, sang alto with a Southern California group called the Mother Singers, and was an active member of the local chapter Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She later worked for Scheu Manufacturing in Upland, General Dynamics in Pomona, and for EZ-Ads in Ontario. Her husband Raymond passed away in 1994. After her retirement at age 66, Marjorie volunteered at the Montclair Library and was an active member of the Ontario Women's Club. She had many close friends with whom she enjoyed travel, day outings and her weekly bridge and Bunko groups. Survivors include her brother Russell Jones of Leesburg, Florida; her four children Mark Reynolds (Laure) of Carlsbad, California, Julie (Mike) Seibt of Winter Springs, Florida, Jeffrey (Carrie) Mather of Huntington Beach, California, and Leanne (Alex) Franco of Fontana, California; her nine grandchildren Matthew and Peter Reynolds, Eric and Ian Seibt, Nicolette Feltman, Jacqui Mather, Noah, Dominic and Cameron Franco; and two great-grandchildren Reese and Ian Feltman. Celebration of Marjorie's life will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 31st at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, with a brief reception immediately following.
