Peter "Dan" Guidera Dan Guidera, 79 of Upland died peacefully on Aug 22, 2018. He was born on Aug 30, 1938 to Joseph & Lena Guidera. The Guidera Family owned and operated Cucamonga Top Winery and a small fruit stand/general store on Foothill Blvd (Route 66) in Etiwanda. Dan graduated from Chaffey High School in 1956. He attended L.A. Art Center College of Design and Chouinard Art Institute (now CalArts.) After leaving college to return to Etiwanda to help in the family wine business, Dan joined the US Army and served as an MP at the military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas from 1961 to 1964. Dan married Annette Filpi, of Upland, in 1965 and moved to Upland where they raised their two children Linnette & Joseph Guidera. Dan was a devoted father and loyal husband who dedicated his life to his family. Dan gave freely of his time and artistic talents to St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was a member and chair of the Art & Environment Committee, St. Joseph Catholic School, St. Lucy Priory High School and Damien High School, where his children attended. Dan loved classical music, vintage automobiles, the arts, nature, gardening and was an avid runner all his life. He took great joy in sharing his gardening bounty and clippings from his favorite plants with friends and family. Dan is survived by his children Linnette Guidera of Upland and Joseph Guidera of Los Angeles, his sister and brother-in-law, Dolly & Chuck Marietta of Upland and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Annette, his parents Joe & Lena, his sisters Sara Meyer and Mary Vecchio and his brother Joe Guidera. Visitation and vigil services will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, Aug 29, 2018 at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, Aug 30, 2018 at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, 9135 Banyan Street, Rancho Cucamonga, 91737. Private entombment will be held in Belleveu Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to The Presentation Sisters, 925 N. Campus Avenue, Upland, CA 91786. Stone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
