Theodore (Ted) Karros Obituary
Ted was born in St. Louis to restaurateurs George and Iva Karros. After high school, he served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. After the war, he returned to St. Louis and studied at Washington University where he met the love of his life, Dolores Hilfiker. They started their family while he worked for the State Department in Guatemala and Brazil.

Having been raised in the restaurant business, it was natural for him to follow suit. The Karros family built, owned, and operated Le Chateau Village in St. Louis for 40 years. In 1986, Ted and Dolores moved to Upland. In his retirement, you could find him singing, fishing, RVing around the western U.S., and storytelling.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, George. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; children, Paul Karros (Vivian), Cristina Passwater (Mike), Phillip Karros (Kathy); grandchildren, Sarah Karros, Lauren Karros, Maggie Spicer (Garrett), Jennie Passwater, Christopher Clark (Becky), Miranda Cox, and Randy Pennington, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Jane Patchett and Marscella Studt; niece, Julie Coleman (Dave); and nephews, George Karros, Alec Karros (Wendell), and Steve Karros.
