William F. Kallweit, Jr. age 87, died peacefully at his residence in Lake San Marcos, CA on February 8. He is predeceased by Viola Kallweit, his wife of 54 years. Bill is a native son, born in Upland, California to William and Loretta Kallweit. He was a long time resident of the Inland Empire, living in Chino, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga for the majority of his life. He lived in Lake San Marcos the last few years to be closer to his family.

Bill served during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He graduated from Chico State University in 1962 and taught elementary school at Corona Elementary School in Ontario from 1964 to 1990. He was very interested and involved in local history and was a member of the Chino Valley Historical society, Native Sons of the Golden West and the American Legion. Bill was a long-standing member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona.

Bill should be remembered on his boat, at the Colorado River, where he maintained a vacation residence for many years. He loved to travel with his wife and together they traversed many miles in their motor home with the Desomount Club. He will be incredibly missed by his surviving family which includes his step-daughter, Gretchen Gilbert; his granddaughter, Sara Ferrer; grandson-in-law, Richard Ferrer and two great-grandchildren, Joaquin and Diego Ferrer.

Bill’s final resting place will be Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, California beside his wife and parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona, California.
