Adela Slaton (nee Gonzalez), aged 65, passed away on August 24, 2024, in El Centro, California. Born on May 17, 1959, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Adela devoted over 30 years to the field of dentistry, consistently striving to provide the best dental care to her community.
Adela attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Holtville, CA, where she participated in Bible study and found great joy in her faith. Her kindness and caring nature were evident in both her personal and professional life.
She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, Stephen Slaton; son, Daniel Slaton; daughter, Estephanie Slaton; mother, Maria Gonzalez; and brother, Octavio Gonzalez. As well, she is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Gabriella Slaton, Rebecca Uldrick, Robert Slaton, and Margaret and Dustin Harmon, plus numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Adela was preceded in death by her father, Juan Gonzalez.
Adela met Stephen in her quest to learn English so she could practice dentistry on both sides of the border as well as become an American citizen. Above all, he admired her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated and supportive mother, inspiring her children to follow their passions, pursue and fulfill their callings.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church, Holtville, California. Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro, CA, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, honoring Adela's legacy of caring and compassion.

Tia, ill never forget how you made us feel like we were going to need inhalers from laughing so much. Ill never forget the way you made me feel welcomed not only in your home but anywhere you went and saw us. The traditions like the avatar imitation when we would go home, or the unspoken joke of making a face to see who would laugh first. You have impacted so many people around you and you will be so very missed. I thank God every single day that the last thing i got to tell you was that i love you and that I would see you soon. I met Adela for the past twenty years . She was my friend an my dentist. She had the most beautiful personality , she always had a kind word and cared deeply about her patients.
I will miss her terribly, may God bring her into his warm embrace.

So sad (for me) to see this wonderful dentist go Home. She was the very best dentist I've ever had and I'm old. She had such a pleasant demeaner with her patients and staff. I know her staff and family are mourning her loss. She was truly a special lady.
