Frances Amparano Meza, 78, of El Centro, CA, passed away on September 24, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, and sister. Frances was born on March 6, 1945, and was known for her sweet and kind nature. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining, always making her family feel special. Frances was a devoted woman of faith and found guidance and blessings through her religious beliefs.
After a successful career as an Operations Manager at Bank of America, Frances retired after 30 years of dedicated service. In her post-retirement years, she enjoyed spending time at the casino with her husband and sisters. Frances had a love for traveling, especially with her family, and cherished family gatherings. She was also a dog lover and adored her furry companions, Rocky and Max.
Frances is survived by her children, Michele Heller and Benny Meza III, as well as her grandchildren, Bryan and Brianna Heller. She is also survived by her sister, Lupe Laverty, and brothers, Fred Amparano and Johnny Moreno. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benny Meza, and her sister, Mary Mucino.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. A church service will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Frances Amparano Meza.
Frances will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and devotion will forever be cherished.

I was privileged to have known Frances, Mary and all their family in our youth. Frances was one of a kind, a very sweet, kind and gentle person. We all had so much fun going to all the dances, trips to the snow in winter and just hanging out at their house. Now she's resting eternally beside Benny, the love of her life and her sister Mary. Our sincerest, heartfelt sympathies to her children and all her family, in particular to my old friend Lupe. God bless you.
