Our beautiful and loving mom and nana was born in Marfa, TX and was an Imperial Valley resident for over 50 years. She married the love of her life Louis F. Diaz in 1959. Together they had three children. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana, and great-nana. She spent many years dedicating her time to St. Mary's School as a yard duty mother, room mother and cook for the annual barbecues. She also helped run the concession stand for El Centro Youth Soccer and the Spartan Athletic SAC Club for her children and later for her grandchildren. She never missed their sports or 4-H events. Both her great grandchildren, Liam and Linnaea, meant the world to her. In her spare time she enjoyed watching or attending New York Yankees or San Francisco Giants baseball games. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting the casino. Elodia was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes and Guadalupe Garcia; her sisters, Lupe G. Valenzuela and Mary Garcia; her brothers, Juan, Jose, Jesus "Rocky", Mercedes "Victor" Garcia. Her husband Louis F. Diaz, her son Louie Diaz, and her granddaughter Melissa Diaz. She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Les) Rogers and Mary Helen Sanchez; her grandchildren, Vanessa Rogers and Justin (Valerie) Sanchez; her great grandchildren, Liam and Linnaea Sanchez; her sister, Celia Rojas; her sister-in-law, Trini Garcia; and many of her nieces and nephews. You will be missed and we will always cherish the beautiful memories of you. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jorge Robles, Accent Care (nurses and therapists), Cristina Crankshaw, and the rest of Elodias family and friends. Due to the pandemic, services for Elodia "Llolla" Diaz will be private. Mom, you took half of our hearts with you when you left us and will be deeply missed.

Dearest Terri and family,

My most sincere and heartfelt condolences in the loss of your precious mother.

Just as she took half your hearts with her she stole a little sunshine from the very community she served and loved.

I will always remember your momma so cheerful, always hardworking but making it look fun and effortless — she was forever welcoming and spoke to you as if you were tge only person in the room - because in that moment you were. She always proudly gushed about her family and one always had to agree as it was all true.

I hope the beautiful memories everyone that knew and loved her will carry you through all the days ahead.

Much love from our family to yours.
