George Alvarado, 86, of Calexico passed away on February 6, 2021 of pneumonia at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born on January 17, 1935 in Calexico. George was a retired truck driver, and self-employed business owner. George was the owner of George Alvarado Trucking for over 25 years. He worked Imperial County, Riverside County, and San Diego County. He proudly worked on many major highways and freeways in Califorina. He was a very successful business man. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Many of his drivers were family and many became like family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria J. Alvarado; brothers, Raul, Joaquin, Tony and Mario; sisters, Noy and Maria Elena; his son, Larry and most recently by his wife, Antonia Alvardao of 63 years. His survivors include his children, Arlene Garcia (Rudy) of Calexico, George Alvarado Jr. (Sharon) of Elk Grove, CA, Mario Alvarado (Anna) of Calexico,and Maria Teresa Romero (Diego) of Calexico, CA. George is also survived by his three sisters, Lupe Faz, Virginia Jimenez and Geneva Camarena from San Diego, CA, his 13 beautiful grandchildren, Vivian, Alvarado, Christopher George Alvarado, Alexis Alvarado, Samuel Garcia, Vanessa Moton, Gerry Garcia, Jorge Alvarado, Javier Alvarado, Mario Alberto Alvarado Alyssa Alvarado, Rebecca Alvarado, Diego Alonzo Romero and Marcos Andres Romero; and his great-grandchildren. George had a lot of friends in Calexico, many thanks to Rusty Schaefer for his lifelong friendship. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Service will follow at 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Calexico. The Family suggest memorials be sent to: Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico.
