John Corral, 81, longtime resident of Calexico died of complications due to multiple myeloma Tuesday, August 25 in Oceanside surrounded by family.
He was born October 25, 1927 in Eureka, UT and later married Julia Olga Perdomo on December 9, 1950 in Mexicali, Mexico. John was a WWII and Korean War Veteran. He was employed by US Gypsum Company for 1942 to 1967 and by Valley Nitrogen from 1977 to 1984. In 1985, he and his wife relocated to Oceanside, CA where he was employed by Camp Pendleton until his retirement. In his spare time, John raised canaries, tended to his garden and was a devout parishioner of San Luis Rey Mission.
John was preceded in death by his brothers, Manuel and Salvador Corral of Mexicali, and Abel Corral of El Centro; parents, Maria de Jesus Corral and Juan Corral of Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julia Olga Perdomo Corral; son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Myra Corral of Weston, FL; daughter, Olga Elena Corral of Oceanside, CA; son, Arturo P. Corral of Evans, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Corral Leon and Jorge Leon of Chula Vista, CA. Dad is also survived by grandchildren, Veronica, Ian, Francis, Isabella, Amber, April, Andria, Gabriel, Armando, and Antonio; and great-granddaughter, Gaby.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Even though it has been years since you moved from Encanto Dr. we still remember all of you. Our dad (Chavelo)also passed away last Sept. May all the memories you have of your dad keep you strong and united.
