Mirna Caabay, 57, of Imperial passed away on December 22, 2020 due to natural causes. She was born on November 10, 1963 in Mexicali. Mirna attained her Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in special education and was an inspirational teacher at BESD for 31 years. An exceptional mother of four children, a loving sister, and aunt, while being a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Caabay; mother, Emilia Arenas Caabay; brothers, Rudy Caabay and Francisco Caabay. Mirna is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Caabay and Esmeralda Caabay both of Imperial; sons, John Caabay and Robert Caabay both of Imperial; sisters, Martha Caabay and Mercedes Caabay both of Imperial; nephews, David Caabay, Arturo Jazek, Anthony Jazek, Carlos Moreno and Martin Flores; nieces, Carla Moreno and Mayra Flores. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery 201 E. Gillett Rd, El Centro, CA 92243.
