HOWARD E. ROLAN

1922 - 2014



Howard Rolan, 92, of Murrieta, CA passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Howard was born in Cheektawoga, NY. He married Edna F. Drown Rolan on January 17, 1948 in Boston, MA.
He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Gail and Eric Forseth and their children, Cory and Jamie Forseth; Patti Bucko and her son, Ryan Johnson; and Pamela and Jay Garrett and their children, Katherine and Faith Gal; and niece, June and Eugene Schnaufer.
Graveside will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery. Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in El Centro, with Ronald Griffen officiating.
The family suggests memorials to Jobs Daughters International.

You will be missed by many, some who you may not have even known. You are loved and we are glad to have had even the brief bit of experience with you. Pam, Jay and kids: you all took such great care of your dad/grandpa all the way through the end. It is not easy to do. I know he appreciated every sacrifice or compromise you made to assure he was clean, fed and comfortable. As a previous home health nurse I assure you all that it takes special people who are filled with love and generosity to provide such outstanding care. Your warmth as a family is admired. Pam there is a special spot in heaven for you and your family. Rest in peace Mr. Rolan.

I know that the years Mr. Rolan spent with The Gals were wonderful for him. His daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren were blessed to have him a part of their daily life and they will be forever better for caring for him. I know he is smiling down on us all and telling God what a wonderful family he had. Pretty sure he and my dad have shared some wonderful stories already. You will be missed Mr. Rolan.

I had the pleasure of working and knowing Howie when I worked in Calexico. He was a very nice man, gentleman and always with a smile on his face. God bless him and hold him in his arms, giving him peace and serenity in his final rest. God bless his family members during this difficult time and may the wonderful memories you have of him help get through it.

Uncle Howie and Aunt Edna
Uncle Howie we shared times together since 1979 when we arrived in San Diego. You and Aunt Edna were at our wedding in 1990 and had several visits with Mother over the years we were in San Diego. Your visits to the house where many over the years and especially during your travels between Temecula and El Centro. We are glad we got to see you in April and you will always be remembered by us.

We enjoyed him for the short time we knew him and we know how much he meant to the Gal family. He will be missed! Pam, as a previous home health nurse I can tell you honestly, that you and Jay were incredible to Howard. He spoke so highly of you both! I know that it meant MOUNTAINS to have him come live with you all while he did. I truly believe it is God's work, that Jay was home with him when you weren't. You both, and the kids, were a great team. May he rest in peace!

I miss you dad, but I see you in so many things everyday. The color red, a hershey kiss but mostly in Garrett's smile.
