Susy April Salazar, 28, of El Centro passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. She was born April 23, 1988 in El Centro, CA. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary, 1975 S. 4th Street, El Centro. Services will be officiated by her uncle and Pastor, Mario Salazar. Susy is survived by her children, Arianna Pinuelas 11, Myka Pinuelas 10, Madison Pinuelas 8, and Mason Oropeza, 4; mother, Maria "Susy" Lopez and father, Jose Luis Salazar Sr. "Pepe"; brother, Raul Velarde and his children, Jazmine Velarde, Isaiah Velarde, Joshua Velarde, Alitza Velarde, and Juan Parra-Velarde; brother, Michael Velarde and wife, Cathy Velarde and their children, Isaac Jasso-Velarde, Angel Velarde, and Destiny Velarde; brother, Jose Luis Salazar Jr. and wife, Jasmine Salazar and their children, Aiden Salazar, Jacob Salazar, and Xamian Munoz-Salazar; sister, Valeria Rodriguez and husband Roberto Rodriguez and their children, Brianna Harvey-Rodriguez, Daniel Harvey-Rodriguez and Nathan Rodriguez; grandmother, Juanita Lopez; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Adela Robles Salazar and Ignacio "Zurdo" Salazar; grandfather, Jesus "Chuy" Lopez and great-grandmother, Jacoba Lopez. Susy attended and graduated from Southwest High School and Imperial Valley College. She was employed by Target Store in El Centro for three years. Susy was a wonderful, loving, single mother who raised her four children to live for the Lord. She attended all of their football practices and games, wrestling matches and cheer camps. She was a dedicated mother to her beautiful children. Susy, also known as Susita, was full of life. Susita was loved tremendously by all. She loved deeply and unconditionally. She inspired those around her through her passion for music and poetry. Susita loved a good movie and family night surrounded by everyone she loved and kept close. Susita will be missed greatly. We celebrate Susy's life and we will forever remember what a beautiful smile she always carried.
