Elsie Vanarah Bell

Mrs. Elsie Vanarah Lowrance Bell, age 91 of Jackson, passed away on Thursday at Maplewood Health Care in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2 p.m., at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Whitten officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Elsie was born on June 24, 1922 in Carroll County to the late Dolphus and Ollie Butler Lowrance. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Springs Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Bell of Jackson; son, Richard Bell (Michelle) of Brandon, MS; daughter, Alice Stewart of Kansas City; niece, Sandra Kay Cisco (David) of Jackson and a nephew, Steve Lowrance; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 5-7 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, (731) 427-5555.
