Lewis Thomas "Tom" Porter

Crockett County - Lewis Thomas "Tom" Porter, better known as L.T. or Uncle Tom, was born October 24, 1929 in Crockett County, Tn. He passed away January 10, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his parents, Carmel and Monie Porter; wife, Martha Nell Porter; daughter, Gwelda Allen; and siblings, Keith, Clay, Hal, Paul, Calrene, and Monrose.

Mr. Porter is survived by son, David Porter (Gail); daughter Carol Cooke (David); grandchildren, Jaida Ward (Barry), April Emison (R.J.), Amber Henderson (Chance), Gregory Allen (Kim), Douglas Cooke (Taylor); son-in-law, Glenn Allen; great-grandchildren, Ellie Henderson, Case Henderson, Avery Emison, Jase Emison; and siblings, Dawn, Ann, Cindy, and Wanda.

Tom was in the U.S. Army from 1948-1950. He married Martha Nell Joyle in 1952. He farmed in Crockett County, raising cotton, cows, hogs, horses, and donkeys. He enjoyed going to horse shows, Hopkins rodeos, the sale barn, the Cross Country Trail Ride in Missouri, and raising vegetables in his garden. He was baptized in Crockett Mills, TN. His greastest love was his family and friends. He enjoyed talking to people and anyone that met him loved his sense of humor, kindess, and genuine soul.

Visitation for Mr.Porter will be held at Ronk Funeral Home on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 5-8 p.m Services for Mr. Porter will be Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronk Funeral Home.
